Virrey Liniers museum is a national historic museum which occupies the former residence of the XVII century. La estancia Jesuita de Alta Gracia.
On those times, Córdoba was the capital of the Provincia Jesuita of Paraguay which comprehended the today territories of Paraguay, Brasil,Uruguay, Bolivia and Argentina.

In these places there was an important social economic and cultural net which made of Cordoba one of the most developed centers of Soth America, the rural center of Alta Gracia was composed by “ la residencia” ( today museum), The Church , El Obraje( industrial activities), La Rancheria”” El tajamar” ( a dock of 80 metres long) the mills and other constructions. In December 2000 La Estancia de Alta Gracia and La Manzana Jesuita were declared World Heritage by UNESCO.From 1969 a part of the Residence is occupied by the museum in which is developed all the cultural activities ( conferences, workshops and courses) guided visits, library and has a shop too.
